At the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Maternal and Child Health, specialists of the Department of Fetal Medicine performed another high-tech intrauterine operation. A resident of Samarkand applied to the center with a diagnosis: Pregnancy 1, 29 weeks. Intrauterine malformations of the fetal urinary system, posterior urethral valve, bilateral ureter hydronephrosis, megacystis. This pathology, an obstruction of the lower urinary tract or fetal bladder (LUTO), can lead to abnormal kidney development. After an examination and a consultation with a professor from the Center for Fetal Medicine in Berlin, with whom the center has a memorandum of cooperation in the field of fetal medicine, it was decided to perform intrauterine vesico-amnial bypass grafting in order to relieve the urinary system of the fetus and prevent consequences in the form of chronic kidney failure. The operation was successful. An ultrasound examination the next day showed a positive trend and a decrease in the pathological signs of LUTO. The patient was discharged for outpatient observation.
